UPDATE – TNG-WGAE CONTRACT DISPUTE

TNG lawyers are reviewing language for the settlement of the contract dispute between TNG and WGAE management following mediation of the issues by representatives of the AFL-CIO on January 28, 2008. Although it is difficult to predict when agreement will be reached on the language, we expect to have more concrete information by the end of the week.

TNG all along has insisted that the WGAE sign the contract we ratified in October, but management refused, insisting it had not meant to offer the wage package that it presented as a take-it-or-leave it final offer. In an attempt to resolve the issue without resorting to all-out war, TNG and management agreed to the mediation.

TNG insists that the contract be signed and that both parties submit their disagreement over the wage package to arbitration under normal rules for such a proceeding.

TNG has reserved its right to press its position publicly if a final resolution is not signed.

We will keep you informed of further developments.
